To experience anything to its full value, I must get beyond studying. I must do.
That’s what I loved about homeschooling my kids. We dove right into paint, maps, and nature. Study became what we lived. Those days filled me up like college group projects, late at night in the library where we kids collaborated, made conjectures, and discussed the world’s problems.
Study is living the text in conversation and application.
To grasp God’s love, I will live not from page, pen, or screen, nor from verse, memorized narrative, or self-induced quizzes.
I will learn to love by loving, by putting aside knowledge for gain. I will serve instead of feeling momentary self-importance.
To study love, I must be a love story, walking around with a spine and raggedy pages.
