The Undoing of Embrace // Day 4

image

Embrace is the full circling of arms
Round my shoulders
So I am wrapped up
In the blanket of you.
Here I never forget who I am,
Where I belong,
To whose home I travel to
After driving miles.
Embrace is your hand holding fully
Mine like full moon eclipsed by sun
Tonight.

Hold me rounding, whole,
Encircled,
Enraptured,
Enveloped,
Lost.
Embrace is your blue eyes
Refocusing
After looking up from a screen
To remember we are speaking
Now.
Embrace pulls me close
When I’m chopping vegetables
With a chef’s knife
And I fight for a second
The relaxing of my muscles
Into yours
Undone, no longer alone.
