I Cannot Change My Story

by Christina Hubbard

I cannot change my story

Or struggle

Of always wanting

To be good

Enough,

The thread running through

The tension

Taut in my hands,

Between deep pain and breathtaking beauty

Is ringing now like a piano string

Hammered, beautiful

Resonating, on sustain.

Your season of Right Now is not your season of Forever. When family needs are more demanding or work requires more and you’re less able to do the writing you’d like, it doesn’t mean you’ll never be able to do that writing. It means that what God has put in front of you today (this year?) is preparing you to do that writing. For now, it just happens to be within your own soul.

There should be a consistency that runs through us all. For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself. Hebrews 13:8 MSG

What is the consistent thread running through your story?
